Christian Women's Retreat

Our Christian Women’s Retreats are always relaxed and fun, but our main purpose is to encourage one another in the practice of our faith. This year’s retreat theme revolves around I Corinthians 1:30: “…you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.”
Sophia, the Greek word translated wisdom, has a broad range of meaning. In this year’s retreat we want to focus on the way Jesus “has become for us wisdom from God.” One of the definitions for the Greek word is: “Sophia denotes a mental excellence of the highest sense, to details with wisdom as exhibited in action, and adding the power of reasoning about wisdom’s details by tracing their relationships.” In other words, wisdom is more than merely mentally applying one’s knowledge and skill; wisdom is “exhibited in action.”
There is a wisdom which is earthly and of this world; but the wisdom from God involves “righteousness, holiness and redemption.”
Besides our keynote speaker, Pam Dewey, presentations will be given by Scarlett Stough, Cynthia Saladin, and Nancy Vandemark. Interactive discussions will give all attendees an opportunity to participate in discussions related to the presentations. We will continue to offer the popular Quiet Hour for reflection and rest. Fellowship is always available at mealtime, between sessions, and in the evening.
We will once again be at the Sojourn Retreat Center, which is nestled in the picturesque Missouri hills located 22 miles from St. Louis.
Your weekend will include motivational messages, interactive workshops, music, a hymn-along, and opportunities for quiet reflection as well as fellowship.
Enjoy buffet-style dining for six meals (included in the registration price) as well as comfortable lodging. Each room contains two double beds and bunk bed.
Come join us for a relaxing, invigorating weekend of physical and spiritual food, and the opportunity to interact with Christian women for mutual encouragement and relationship building.
