Twenty-two women gathered at the Sojourn Retreat Center in rural Missouri
near Dittmer. The weekend from Friday evening, February 6, through the noon hour
on Sunday, February 8, was packed with exhortation and inspiration, interactive
discussions, hymn singing, chatting and sharing personal experiences, laughter
and tears. We were serious and silly; we were happy and sad. We got to know
others in a personal way through the whole experience. We prayed; we talked; we
listened; we sang hymns to piano and flute accompaniment. I hope all of us
returned home with a renewed faith in God and with our priorities set toward
godly things.
The emphasis was on our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and
encouraging one another. Our goal was to build connections with Jesus and with
our sisters in Christ. Most expressed a desire to do this again next year.
Below are some of the comments from a few who attended:
“We’re all home safe and sound! Again, thanks to you [Nancy] and Scarlett for
a wonderful, inspiring and uplifting weekend!” L.A.
“I had a wonderful time bonding with everyone. Pam, thank you so much for all
you put into the women’s retreat. It was just what I needed, and the information
has been very useful already! Many blessings.” J. H.
“We had a lot of good thought provoking questions and seminars, music etc. It
was really nice. It was a wonderful experience and I gained a lot more than the
reason I went. I really enjoyed all the bonding and it was a really great get
away. I loved the box illustration. We are all coming at it from a different
place but we are all looking to Christ. I hope to be there next year." T. H.
“I’m so glad I came to the women’s conference so I had a couple of days to
relax. I’m looking back on it now with
thankfulness (as I knew I would)." P. M.
