Part I. The Example of Run with Perseverance. 1. II Peter 1:5-7; Luke 9:57-62 Do you think perseverance is an essential characteristic of an effective, productive Christian? Why or why not? 2. I Corinthians 9:24-27; Hebrews 10:35-39; 12:1 What similarities, if any, do you see between a race and living a Christian life? Do you see any differences? 3. Luke 21:7-19; John 16:33; I Corinthians 10:13; Revelation 2:8-11 What are some of the troubles that can test our endurance? Do you have any situations you would like to share as an encouragement to others? 4. II Corinthians 6:3-10; 12:12; II Thessalonians 1:4; II Timothy 3:10-12; Hebrews 12:1; James 5:11; Revelation 1:9; II Thessalonians 3:4-5 Who are some of the people in these verses who have set an example of perseverance, patient endurance? Do you know any examples to share of people you know who have set an example of patient endurance as a Christian? Part II. By Persevering: Beside each scripture note the actions or circumstances to practice perseverance or a reason for enduring.

Part IV. Every Spiritual Blessing. 1. Read Ephesians 1:3-14 and list as many benefits that you find for becoming “in Christ.” 2. Read Romans Chapter Eight and list as many benefits that you find that a Christian enjoys. 3. Revelation 21:3-4; Mark 10:28-30; Romans 2:6-7 What lies beyond death for a Christian? 4. If any promise from God in this study has inspired you to determine to persevere in Christ, and especially if you are going through some discouraging times, write it down where you will see it often or memorize it. |
