These are by no means all of the scriptures on this topic. In fact, every book of the Bible points to Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of mankind. The Old Testament points forward prophetically to him. These Old Testament passages were used by the Apostles to show people that Jesus fulfilled those prophecies, as evangelists can today.

The blank space on this sheet can be used for your class assignment: Choose one of the scripture references listed or choose one from another passage in the Bible. Read that passage. Then write what you learn about the gospel from that passage and what it means to you. Write a summary of the gospel in your own words to prepare to discuss this topic in our group discussion.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

1. Ask for a volunteer to comment on what she learned from the scripture she chose and what it means to her. When she finishes, ask for other volunteers.

2. Ask for a volunteer to summarize the Gospel. Ask for other comments.

3. Ask for volunteers to describe any encounters successful or otherwise in presenting the gospel to someone else.
