Serena Halverson, 19, lives in eastern Kentucky with her parents. She is blessed with four brothers, a sister-in-law, and an adorable two-year-old nephew! Homeschooled her whole life, she spends the majority of her time working at her family’s greenhouse (www.halversonfamilyfarm.com). She says, “Learning never stops, and I desire to continue to learn at home for the rest of my life! And at work … and, well, everywhere, really!” She dreams of raising a huge family in the setting of God’s beautiful and open countryside, and getting more involved with ministry, specifically sharing with music, assisting orphans and widows, and reaching out to single women. Serena writes: A couple months back, my father was giving two of my brothers and me writing assignments. Mother suggested that we write what we thought it meant to be a Godly man or woman, respectively. Daddy agreed that that idea was good, and so resulted the following poem.
